This program, led by TPaCK developer Punya Mishra, was an important opportuity for me to gain the thoeretical background to the work with technology that I had been doing since I began teaching. This experience led to a substantial increase in the value of the training I am able to provide.

Thunderbird, now part of Arizona State University, is still one of the best known graduate schools for international business. My focus on finance and Asia led me to work in Hong Kong, then Japan, before returning to the US.

Middlebury College
Summer Chinese (83, 07) and Japanese (84) Language Schools
Middlebury has the best summer intendive languageprograms in teh world. Total immersion - students sign a language pledge primising to use only the target language for the entire summer, and can be asked to leave if they violagte the pledge. I wsa fortuante to do upper level Chinese fillowed by first year Japanese. The Chinese left me in an execellenet positin to travel to China imediately after, and the Japanese gabve me the foundation I needed to move there six years later and quikly gain proficiency.

- 小蝌蚪找妈妈 (iBook) (2013) - This is an ebook based on a Chinese animation. It includes both vocabulary and grammar explanations.
- Mastering Chinese Verb Result, Directional, and Potential Complements (2011) - This is a short booklet that includes a fairly complete list of complements with explanations and examples of how to use them. These are an essential element of Chinese gtrammar that is quite different from English.
- Mulan: Script, Vocabulary, Language Notes, and Exercises (2009) - Based on the Disney movie, the entire script is presented with vocabulary and grammar notes. Movies are a powerful medium for language learning.
